Cloaked
Drew it while listening (almost as satisfying as actually watching) to the Jane Eyre movie. I have to read that book again, it’s been too long.
I loved making those leaf-looking feathers, by the way. Very calming for the mind.
Memory bird
I mad a few small, relaxed and spring-inspired drawings of fantasy birds to give to friends and family. This second drawing is partly inspired by the Californian hummingbirds that stole a piece of my heart some years ago.
Still waiting to receive a new scanner. I never thought I’d be this excited for a new electronic device, but I seriously giggle when I think of all the fantastic things the scanner and I will do together. We will scan photos, and drawings, and paintings, and sketches, and legal documents, and napkins, and flowers, and perhaps a little yarn. And I’ll be able to upload sharp, crisp images with the correct textures and colours! I can’t wait.
Pages from my sketchbook.
I have no new finished artwork to show you, but I’ve kept myself busy
sketching animals and trying to understand their shapes and characters.
The many joys of winter in the city
One
of the best things about cold weather is the smartly dressed
businessmen wearing silly hats. The fine leather shoes combined with
earflaps. The austere look crowned by a woozy fluff of colourful yarn.
It’s a pity they seem to be so conservative regarding gloves; Just
imagine that stock broker in tassel-adorned mittens.
A collection of Christmas themed images I made for my Advent Calendar. Now that the Holidays are over and you’re probably sick of holly leaves, glitter decorations, and sweet pictures of deer, I thought it best to show them together like this. But more (and less christmas-y) to come.
I hope you had a wonderful time and got to share it with the best and kindest people you know.
Oh, and Happy New Year! :)
Advent Calendar – Day 5
Not all winter forests are frosty and white. Some are wet and gray,
others are only sleepy. Then there are those magical forests where every
leaf is a hidden universe and every moss-covered stone has a voice. If
you find yourself strolling around in one such forest one day, I’m
pretty sure you’ll meet a tomte.
Advent Calendar – Day 4
The tale of when 10 spicy oranges held the power to artistic insight. Read more about this image on my blog.
